Additional Information
Martin L. Lorenzo is from the Philippines and is an avid diver/underwater videographer and an active environmentalist. He first got "hooked" on diving after an introductory dive in 1990 and has been diving "illegally" without a formal dive certification. He later decided to take formal training and he has been actively diving for the past eight years since then.
Martin holds certifications from Open Water to Technical Instructor and is also certified as IANTD Trimix, Rebreather and Wreck diver and GUE Fundamental, Technical and Cave Diver.
He is a member of an environmentalist group FoBB (Friends of Balayan Bay) that has numerous projects to help reverse the continued degradation of the nation’s birthplace of SCUBA - Anilao/Mabini, Batangas, Philippines. He is also co-founder and president of WEDT (World Exploration Dive Team) that works to promote sound diving practices through DIR philosophy. WEDT is a non-profit educational organization that also assists environmentalist groups in DIR practices and can be seen giving free seminars to divers and school children when he is not busy from his office work.
He is also a contributing writer to GUE quarterly dive information magazine Quest. |
